About DT Exports
01Who is DT Exports?
DT Exports is a natural stone export house based in New Delhi, India: a fifth-generation family business founded in 1969 by Shri Vinod Kumar Jain. We supply granite, marble, quartzite, onyx and sandstone in block and slab form to buyers worldwide.
02Are you a manufacturer, a trader or a quarry owner?
We work on a direct quarry-to-container model, and we own no factory, deliberately. India's best stone does not come from one place, so we select the block at source, place it with the partner quarry, factory or job-work line best suited to that material and finish, supervise the work, and stand behind the container that leaves under our name.
03Which countries do you export to?
We regularly ship to China, USA, Vietnam, Taiwan, Italy & Europe, Middle East, South-East Asia. We can ship to any port that accepts containerised stone cargo; new markets on request.
04Who do you sell to?
Importers, wholesalers, stone processing factories, distributors, fabricators buying in container loads, and project contractors. We do not sell to individual homeowners; if you need a single kitchen top, a local stone yard or fabricator is the right partner.
05Why buy Indian stone?
India is one of the world's largest producers of granite and has deep reserves of marble, quartzite and sandstone. Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu produce colours you cannot get elsewhere, at competitive prices.
06Why buy from DT Exports rather than another exporter?
Our promise is simple: the container is the contract. Five generations in stone mean we know which quarry produces which quality, we show you the actual material before it ships, and what arrives at your port matches what you approved.
07Where are you located, and can I visit?
Our office is at X-60/61, Okhla Industrial Area Phase 2, New Delhi 110020, India. Buyers are welcome to visit and travel with our team to quarries and factories to select material in person. Please book in advance so we can arrange the visit.
08Do you attend trade fairs?
Yes. We attend major international stone fairs such as Marmomac in Verona. Contact us to book a meeting at the next one.

Products & materials
09What materials do you supply?
Granite, Marble, Quartzite, Onyx, Sandstone, as rough and dressed block, gangsaw and cutter slab, tiles and cut-to-size.
10Do you sell blocks, slabs or both?
Both. We supply raw blocks (gangsaw and cutter size) for processing factories, and finished slabs for wholesalers and distributors, plus tiles and cut-to-size pieces made to your drawing.
11What is the difference between gangsaw and cutter blocks?
Gangsaw blocks are large, regular blocks suited to cutting many slabs at once on a gangsaw or multi-wire machine. Cutter blocks are smaller and are used for tiles and smaller formats.
12Which colours and varieties are available?
Our range covers Indian classics and exotics: Brown Fantasy, Black Galaxy, Panda White, Lily Black, Titanium Gold and Aravali Green Onyx among more than sixty shades. See the product pages for what we typically supply, or send us the colour you need and we will source it.
13Is everything on the website in stock?
Natural stone stock changes constantly as blocks are sold and new ones are quarried. Product pages show what we typically supply. For live availability, ask for our current stock list with block IDs, photos and measurements.
14Can you source a stone you don't list?
Yes. Send a photo, a sample or the trade name you know it by. Many Indian stones are sold under several names, and we will identify the quarry and confirm whether it is available.
15Can I get samples?
Yes. We send polished samples for colour and finish approval, taken from the lot you would be buying from, not from a showroom board.
16Do you also offer display and packaging products?
Our sister company, DT Display & Packaging, makes jewellery display and packaging solutions in India.

Choosing the right stone
17Granite or marble: which is better?
Granite is harder and resists heat, scratches and stains better, so it suits kitchens and heavy-use areas. Marble is softer and etches with acids such as lemon or vinegar, but its veining and glow make it the choice for bathrooms, floors, walls and luxury interiors.
| Stone | Rock type | Hardness (Mohs) | Heat | Stains | Sealing | Best uses |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Granite | Igneous | 6–7 | Excellent | Good | Some types, every 1–2 years | Kitchen tops, flooring, exterior, outdoor kitchens |
| Quartzite | Metamorphic (sandstone) | 7 | Excellent | Good | Yes, varies by type | Premium tops, islands, feature walls |
| Marble | Metamorphic (limestone) | 3–4 | Good | Low (etches with acid) | Yes, every 6–12 months | Bathrooms, flooring, walls, statement islands |
| Onyx | Calcite, banded | 3 | Moderate | Low | Yes | Backlit walls, bars, decorative panels |
| Sandstone | Sedimentary | 6–7 | Good | Low (porous) | Yes, especially outdoors | Paving, cladding, landscaping |
18What is quartzite, and how is it different from quartz?
Quartzite is a natural stone formed when sandstone is transformed by heat and pressure; it is as hard as granite with the look of marble. Quartz is an engineered product made from crushed quartz and resin. We supply natural quartzite only.
19Natural stone or engineered quartz?
Quartz is uniform and needs no sealing, but it can scorch under hot pans and yellow in sunlight. Natural stone gives every slab a unique pattern, handles heat and UV, and holds its value. For outdoor use, granite is the safer choice.
20How does natural stone compare with quartz, tile and laminate?
A quick buying guide. Granite and quartzite tick the most boxes; marble and onyx trade toughness for veining and glow; sandstone belongs outdoors. Engineered quartz, ceramic tile and laminate are not natural, and quartz can scorch under hot pans and yellow in sunlight.
| Buying guide | Granite | Quartzite | Marble | Onyx | Sandstone | Quartz | Ceramic tile | Laminate |

| 100% natural | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No | No |
* With a penetrating sealer; many dense granites need none. Some: depends on the stone, finish or product.
21What is the difference between marble and dolomite?
Dolomite looks like marble but contains magnesium, which makes it slightly harder and less reactive to acids. It sits between marble and quartzite in durability.
22Which stone is best for outdoor use?
Granite and sandstone. Both handle sun, rain and frost well when chosen correctly. Marble and onyx are better kept indoors.
23Which stone is best for flooring in high-traffic areas?
Granite is the most durable choice. Marble works well in homes and hotels with a honed finish and regular care.
24Can I use marble in bathrooms and showers?
Yes. Marble is widely used for bathroom walls, shower surrounds and vanities. Seal it and clean it with pH-neutral products.
25Which colours are trending now?
Soft whites, warm neutrals and dramatic high-movement stones lead current demand. The seven buyers ask for most by name are Brown Fantasy, Green Marble, Bidasar Brown, Panda White, Titanium Gold, Aravali Green Onyx and Black Galaxy.

Selection, quality & inspection
26Can I see the actual blocks or slabs before I buy?
Yes, and we encourage it. Every slab is unique, so we send photos and videos of the exact blocks or slab bundles you will receive, each tagged with its block ID. You can also inspect in person or through a live video call.
27Will the slabs I receive match the sample?
A sample shows colour, grain and finish, but natural stone varies across a block and between blocks. That is why we photograph and approve the actual material before loading. What you approve is what goes in the container.
28How do you keep the shade consistent across an order?
Slabs are laid out in the yard and grouped by shade so a single order ships as one coherent visual lot. Book-match sequences are held in order from the saw to the crate. This is the step most complaints in the trade trace back to, so it is the one we supervise closest.
29How do you grade quality?
We check colour consistency, veining, cracks, natural fissures, resin repairs, polish level and dimensions.
30Do you allow third-party inspection?
Yes. Buyers may appoint SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or their own inspector at the quarry, factory or loading point.
31Can I select slabs for a specific project?
Yes. For projects needing colour matching or book-matched slabs, we reserve material from a single block and number slabs in cutting sequence.
32How do you measure blocks and slabs?
Blocks are measured in cubic metres (CBM) on net dimensions after trimming. Slabs are measured in square metres or square feet on the usable surface.
33What if the material arrives damaged or not as approved?
Report it as soon as the container is opened, with photos of the container doors, packing and affected slabs. We review every claim against our loading photos and resolve it fairly.
34Is there radon or radiation risk with granite?
No meaningful risk. Studies by industry bodies and health authorities show radon emissions from granite countertops are far too low to affect health.

Ordering, pricing & minimums
35How do I place an order?
Five steps, with one coordinator owning the enquiry from the first message to the bill of lading.
- 1Send your enquiry: material, format (blocks or slabs), thickness, finish, quantity and destination port.
- 2Receive our quotation with photos or a stock list.
- 3Approve the actual material by photo, video or visit.
- 4Confirm with a purchase order and advance payment.
- 5We process, pack and load; you receive loading photos and shipping documents.
36What is your minimum order quantity?
A full container is the natural unit, and most orders are one or more. Smaller lots are consolidated. Tell us the volume and destination and we will say plainly what works and what it costs.
37Can I mix materials in one container?
Mixed containers of different colours or thicknesses are often possible within weight limits. Ask us when you enquire.
38How is stone priced?
Blocks are priced per cubic metre (CBM) and slabs per square metre or square foot, FOB Mundra or Chennai. Price depends on colour, grade, block size, thickness and finish.
39Do you publish a price list?
No. Natural stone prices change with each block's size and quality, so we quote per enquiry. Send the material, finish, thickness, volume and destination port, with drawings if the order is cut-to-size, and the desk replies within one business day.
40Do you offer volume or repeat-buyer pricing?
Yes. Regular buyers and larger volumes receive better pricing.
41What is the lead time?
Blocks in stock ship soonest after payment. Slabs need cutting, polishing and packing, so they take longer, and special orders or quarry-fresh material longer still. We confirm the lead time with every quotation; transit time to your port is additional.
42Can you hold material for me?
Yes, for a short period against an advance payment.
06 / 09
Shipping, packing & documentation
43Which ports do you ship from?
Mundra and Chennai. Mundra (Gujarat) serves North and West Indian stone, mainly from Rajasthan; Chennai (Tamil Nadu) serves South Indian granite.
44What are your shipping terms?
We quote FOB Mundra or Chennai as standard. Full containers are stuffed and sealed under supervision; smaller lots are consolidated as LCL. Other terms are quoted on request.
45How much fits in one container?
A 20 ft container carries about 25–27 tonnes of stone: roughly 9–10 CBM of blocks, or about 350–500 m² of 2 cm slabs and 250–350 m² of 3 cm slabs, depending on stone density and the destination's road weight limits.
46How are slabs packed?
Film wrapped before the face is handled again, foam interleaved between polished faces, edge and corner guards, then fumigated wooden bundles, crates or A-frames on moisture-resistant pallets, strapped and lashed inside the container so nothing moves. The loaded container is photographed before the doors close.
47How are blocks shipped?
Blocks are loaded into open-top or standard containers, chocked and lashed. Very large blocks may ship as break-bulk.
48Is the wooden packing ISPM-15 compliant?
Yes. All wooden packing is heat-treated or fumigated and stamped to ISPM-15, as required by most importing countries.
49What documents do I receive?
Commercial invoice itemised by shade, format and finish; crate-by-crate packing list with dimensions and weights; bill of lading; certificate of origin; fumigation certificate; phytosanitary certificate where needed; third-party test reports when requested at order stage. Paperwork is prepared line-for-line against the confirmed order.
50Will I get photos of loading?
Yes. We photograph each container during loading and after sealing, with container and seal numbers, and share them with you before the ship sails.
51How long does shipping take?
Approximately 15–25 days to China and Vietnam, 20–30 days to Europe and 30–45 days to the USA, depending on route and transhipment.
52Can you arrange freight and insurance?
Yes. We work with trusted forwarders and can arrange freight and marine insurance to your port, or hand over to your nominated forwarder.
07 / 09
Payment & commercial terms
53What payment terms do you accept?
New buyers start on advance payment by bank transfer or on a Letter of Credit; the terms for each order are agreed with the quotation. Terms for long-standing buyers can be discussed.
54Which currencies do you quote in?
US dollars as standard.
55Do you accept Letters of Credit?
Yes. An irrevocable L/C at sight from a recognised bank is accepted for qualifying orders.
56Do you offer credit to new buyers?
New buyers start on advance or L/C terms. Credit terms may be offered after a trading history is established.
57When does ownership pass to me?
Under FOB terms, risk passes to the buyer once the goods are loaded on board the vessel at the Indian port. Title passes on full payment as per the contract.
58Can I cancel or change an order?
Changes are possible before cutting or loading starts. Once material has been cut to your specification it cannot be changed, so tell us as early as you can.
08 / 09
Finishes, sizes & specifications
59Which finishes do you offer?
Polished, honed, leathered (brushed), flamed, sandblasted, bush-hammered, antique and river-washed. Not every stone suits every finish; flamed finishes, for example, work on granite but not on marble.
| Finish | Look | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Polished | High gloss, deepest colour | Countertops, walls, interior floors |
| Honed | Smooth, matte | Floors, bathrooms, marble that should hide etching |
| Leathered | Soft texture, low sheen | Kitchen tops, dark granites, quartzites |
| Flamed / sandblasted | Rough, slip-resistant | Exterior paving, steps, pool decks |
60What slab thicknesses are available?
18, 20 and 30 mm are standard. Heavier sections, steps and copings are cut on request.
61What slab sizes do you supply?
Gangsaw slabs typically run about 270–330 cm long and 160–200 cm high, depending on the block. Jumbo slabs are available in selected stones, alongside mini-gangsaw, cutter-size and cut-to-size formats.
62Can you cut to our drawings?
Yes. Countertops, cladding panels, treads, risers, copings and sills are measured against the approved drawing before they leave the floor. Send the drawing with the enquiry and the quote is cut to it.
63Which edge profiles can you cut?
Eighteen, in three families. Standard: eased, quarter round, bevel, half bevel, half and full bullnose. Decorative: ogee, ogee bullnose, Dupont, cove ogee, double quarter round and stair nosing. Built-up 40 mm+ edges: laminated square, bullnose, ogee and bevel, a mitred apron and the waterfall. The edge is marked per side on your approved drawing, so on-site work is installation, not fabrication.
64Are slabs resin-treated or net-backed?
Where a stone has natural fissures, slabs are epoxy-resin treated and may be mesh-backed for strength. We tell you in advance which material is treated.
65Can you provide technical data?
Yes. Test reports for water absorption, density, compressive and flexural strength and abrasion resistance are arranged per order.
66Can you supply book-matched slabs?
Yes, for marbles, onyx and quartzites with strong veining. Slabs are kept in cutting sequence and numbered so they can be mirrored on site.
09 / 09
Care, sealing & safety
67Does natural stone need sealing?
Most natural stones benefit from a penetrating sealer after installation. Marble and onyx need it most; many dense granites need it rarely or never.
68How often should it be resealed?
Marble kitchen tops: every 6–9 months. Granite and quartzite: every 1–2 years, depending on the stone and use.
69How can I tell if stone needs resealing?
Leave a few drops of water on a hidden spot for 15 minutes. If the stone darkens, it is absorbing water and should be resealed.
70How should natural stone be cleaned?
Wipe with warm water and a pH-neutral, stone-safe cleaner. Avoid vinegar, lemon, bleach, ammonia and abrasive pads, which dull the polish and break down the sealer.
71How do I disinfect a stone countertop safely?
Use a stone-safe disinfectant or 70% isopropyl alcohol, leave it for a few minutes, then wipe dry. Avoid bleach and undiluted household disinfectants.
72Can I cut directly on granite or place hot pots on it?
Granite resists heat and scratches well, but cutting will dull knives and sudden heat can stress any stone. Use cutting boards and trivets as good practice.
73How do I remove etching or dull spots from marble?
Light etching can be removed with a marble polishing powder. Deeper marks need professional honing and re-polishing.
74Is natural stone eco-friendly?
Yes. Stone is a natural material with no resins or plastics in its body, lasts for generations, and can be reused or recycled at the end of its life.
